What a shallow research that is. Turks from Turkey and Azeris from Azerbaijan have considerable differences with, say Kazakhs and Uzbeks, although they all speak Ural-Altaic (NOT Indo-Iranian) languages. Due to the density of population in the area, Turkic migrations only managed to replace the language in Turkey and Caucasus (Azeris are virtually indistinguishable from Iranians, being originally Iranian people themselves), meanwhile settling in large numbers in the plains of Central Asia. One cannot deny that due to assimilation, there is a large group among Tajiks and Uzbeks that carry similar genetic make-up. However, there is also a considerable majority within these groups that bear noticeable genetic differences - uzbeks from areas like Jizzak for example, with strong Turko-Mongol component and Tajiks from Khodjent or the Pamirs, with strong genetic marker indicating Iranian ancestry.

Please don't make nonsense up.

Very well written article. The more simplified version of the published results by BMC genetics. However, there was a technical problem on an issue in this article.

Anne H says, '' The Turks are largely nomadic herders. They speak Indo-Iranian languages like Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Altay. Their society is organized into clans, or “descent groups,” whose membership is passed down from father to children.'', which is not correct. In fact, the Turks speak Ural-Altaic languages as the examples been given above.
