Again With The Dress

We received a lot of comments and questions about 23andMe’s research regarding why people saw different colors when looking at the same striped dress.SathirapongsasutiF b:w

According to our findings the biggest factor in why people saw either blue and black or white and gold, was age. Not everyone saw things so clearly one way or the other. Some of the commenters saw various shades of both colors or had the colors switch on them each time they looked.

While people had plenty of opinions on the color, almost everyone wanted to know more about what we found.

23andMe computational biologist Fah Sathirapongsasuti, PhD, who did much of the work on this very quick experiment, has put together a white paper outlining his findings with a lot more detailed data.
